The Position

The Emergency Department Director is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and educating to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and an effective program for the trauma patient; maintaining the operational aspects of patient care by collaborating with the Medical Staff and other Department Directors; acts as a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care of the trauma patient; provides for the development, education and evaluation of Emergency Department nursing personnel; coordinates trauma education activities for the hospital; organizes and administers the department to attain the hospital objectives established by the policies and procedures for patient care; and directs, through assigned charge nurses, activities of nursing staff.

The Successful Candidate

The Emergency Department Director will possess:

  • RN; BSN (preferred)
  • 2-3 years Emergency Department related experience with leadership and management experience as well
  • Self-motivated, positive personality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and common web applications.
  • Strong business acumen.
