The Position

 

The Clinical Educator & Employee Health Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the education and development needs of the hospital with an emphasis on the clinical/staff competency. This individual is instrumental in developing and assisting department-specific and/or staff-specific education and orientation while providing teaching and coaching on hospital practices and policies to all employees. The Employee Health component of the role includes planning, implementing, and executing the employee health program in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

 

The Clinical Educator and Employee Health Nurse ensures programs are in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulatory compliance standards set forth by Joint Commission, CARF, and other applicable bodies. In collaboration with Human Resources, the Clinical Educator and Employee Health Nurse assists in the management of worker’s compensation and monitors employee health practices and procedures throughout the hospital to ensure all team members and medical staff adhere to established policies and procedures.

 

The Successful Candidate

 

The Clinical Educator and Employee Health Nurse demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to grow and maintain a well-respected education and employee health program. These competencies include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Current unrestricted license to practice as an RN, Nurse Practitioner, or LPN/LVN in the State of Oregon.
  • 2+ years of employee health experience.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience.
  • 1+ years of professional development experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee health practices and policies.
  • In-depth knowledge of current trends and standards for clinical education and staff development.
  • Current BLS and ACLS.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and common web applications.
  • Positive mental attitude.
  • Self-motivated, self-starting personality.
