Based in Austin Texas, this organizations provides the physician component of clinical services in hospital and post-acute environments across the US. Specialties include Hospitalist Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and Anesthesiology. In addition to physician services, this organization provides industry-leading management services.

The Position

Reporting to the Corporate CFO, the VP of Human Resources is responsible for directing some or all the people functions of the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of the company; the ethical and social consciences of business and society, and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations. The incumbent will also be responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide the organization with the best people talent available and to position the organization as the employer of choice by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the industry.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will work from the company’s corporate office in Austin, TX, traveling as required by the day to day demands of the role, approximately 25% to operations in 5 states. The Vice President of Human Resources will demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to effectively manage the people function of this rapidly growing company. These competencies include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
  • Advanced HR certification preferred.
  • Prior experience with M&A.
  • Harmonizing benefits and 401-K plans during and after M&A activity.
  • Track record of success with high-accountability high-growth companies.
  • 5+ years of progressive senior leadership experience (HR) in a hospital or medical practice setting, preferably with multi-site, multi-state responsibility.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Strong HR expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive mental attitude.
  • Ability to mentor, grow, and develop leaders.
  • Excellent global and cultural awareness.
  • Self-starting, self-motivated personality.
  • Ability to travel as required by the demands of the role.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands and multitask effectively.
